Description

E-commerce has revolutionized the way we shop, but it has also taken away the joy of exploring retail spaces with friends and family. Our project aims to bring back this experience by integrating Decentraland with leading e-commerce platforms. Brands will be able to connect their online stores to their Decentraland scenes, allowing users to browse products, add items to their carts, and complete purchases within the metaverse. This not only benefits users but also provides brands with a new revenue stream and an opportunity to engage customers in a unique, immersive environment. In order to develop the e-commerce integration with Decentraland, we will begin by exporting the brand's product catalog, which contains essential information such as price, color, variations, and availability. To create a visually appealing shopping experience within the metaverse, we will dynamically remove the background of each product image. The web dashboard will enable brands to easily manage their virtual stores. They can select products from their catalog to offer for sale and decide where to place them within their Decentraland scene. We will have a set of 3D modules in which the products will be displayed nicely and in which the users will be able to interact as if they were inside the store for real. To make shopping as smooth as possible, we will develop a comprehensive module for creating an unique account which would work with any ecommerce that integrates this module, adding items to a user's cart and checking out directly within the metaverse. This module will handle all aspects of the shopping process, from browsing products to confirming the order. Furthermore, we will create a set of API methods to seamlessly integrate with the brand's existing e-commerce platform. These API methods will enable the automatic creation of orders on the brand's e-commerce system and facilitate the payment process for users. This integration ensures that brands can efficiently manage their virtual and physical store sales while providing users with a secure and convenient shopping experience in Decentraland. These are a couple of reasons of why we believe this would really benefit decentraland: Shopping User Experience: Integrating e-commerce within Decentraland will give users a reason to spend more time in the metaverse. Users can explore virtual stores and shop with friends from around the world. Attracting Brands and Driving Monetization: Decentraland can attract more brands looking to establish a presence in the metaverse. This, in turn, creates new revenue streams for Decentraland, as well as for the brands themselves, through virtual store sales and potential advertising opportunities. Leverage on metaverse E-commerce: E-commerce is predicted to become one of the main sources of revenue in the metaverse by 2030, offering an integrated e-commerce solution can help solidify this business vertical. https://i.postimg.cc/gkckvyHM/4607fe1b-0eb7-4f01-bfe9-ad7074630183.jpg In other words, this product can generate experiences inside the metaverse which are not dependant on time, users can join at any time and shop around. At the same time, it allows brands to develop content inside decentraland and find a way to actually monetize them to keep on building and not just doing one marketing activation and leave an empty scene.

Dear Community, In the last 3 months, we have been working closely with DCL on integration with e-commerce platforms. Recently, they completed their original proposal to integrate Magento and WooCommerce. Additionally, we recommend that the grantee continue working with brands for testing and receiving their feedback, which is essential to improving and executing a marketing plan. Therefore, we recommend that the DAO Committee (@HPrivakos, @Tobik, @rizk) unpause this vesting contract so that the grantee can receive their final payment. Dear Community, After thoroughly reviewing this project, the Squad wants to communicate that we recommend pausing the last step of this vesting contract until the DCL integration with both e-commerce platforms, Magento and WooCommerce, is completed and has been tested by their QA. Additionally, integration with brands for testing and receiving their feedback is essential. Furthermore, to improve and execute a marketing plan, since the last presentation's performance has not been satisfactory (review comment above). Therefore, we recommend that the DAO Committee (**[@HPrivakos](https://forum.decentraland.org/u/hprivakos)**, **[@Tobik](https://forum.decentraland.org/u/tobik)**, **[@rizk](https://forum.decentraland.org/u/rizk)**) pause this [vesting contract](https://vesting.decentraland.org/#/0xf746db7b2885b7162c58519ac9d256d43d234a05). Today, we have our monthly meeting with Gabriel and Miguel from E-commerce Integration. They presented the latest progress and mentioned they have a bug that's blocking the integration with Magento. Additionally, during the marketing discussion, they showcased the landing page and observed that the Chilean brand is not going to be onboarded as anticipated, while Amensia is collaborate with them again. Considering that this project aims to accelerate revenue generation for the DAO, this payment should be the final installment for this grant. GSS will request a pause on vesting contracts until the Magento integration is complete, QA has been conducted, and a more effective marketing strategy and activation plan are in place. Although they promised results for brands, the progress isn't as promising as expected. Furthermore, it's important to note that in the original budget proposal, big expenses were allocated for QA and Marketing. However, it seems these funds haven't been fully utilized based on the achieved outcomes. Similarly, the Marketing team has only brought in brands from their own network, failing to acquire new ones, which contradicts their stated goals. These include: 1. Launching a pilot program with select brands to test the integration. 2. Gathering feedback and refining the integration based on user and brand experiences. 3. Implementing a full-scale launch and onboarding of additional brands. 4. Continuously updating and improving based on evolving user and brand needs. To finalize the project and receive the last payment, GSS requests them to focus on fixing the integration, conducting QA, and improving marketing efforts by acquiring more brands. My bad. 30% of the revenue will be returned to the DAO, what percentage will you take? If you take 1%, there will need to be 50M USD worth of sales to be made to refund this grant. 50M worth of sales in 24 months from now seems an ambitious objective.

This proposal is missing the two requirements from the Accelerators category: * Requirement: * Revenue share with the DAO or alternative value proposition. * Performance Metrics: * Returns of Investment.

I had a long conversation with Gabe tonight about the plan, the sharing of revenue permanentlly with the DAO, about the use cases this will support, and about the technical requirements. I believe that this would be a great value to the community - enabling real ecommerce in-world, long term brand/store presences, and ease of use for both visitors and vendors. I am voting yes, and have offered to advise as needed, and plan to use the results.

I understand your concern, but I would like to assure you that I am not using any fake accounts to promote my ideas.
