Description
The Grant Support Squad has been active and working under 3 main goals: **For supporting grantees** these last 6 months we have **onboarded 100% of the grantees** that entered the Grants Program at Decentraland, to provide them with crucial information, while providing **more than 115 hours of support per month**, we have shipped **more than 45 onboarding kits** as a warm welcome, and to raise brand awareness. Since the squad was created, we have **solved more than 128 problems/requests** to lead grants to success. So far, we have also **produced 20 articles,** published in the Decentraland Blog about the work our grantees are doing. More recently, in March 2023 we have launched the Testing Tuesday Initiative, to give the grantees a space to demo their projects and get feedback from the community. So far we have **hosted 27 Testing sessions.** **For fostering transparency & accountability**, we have launched **Public Roadmaps**, to make a follow up on grants milestones and impact metrics to **100% of the projects** (Grants Framework implemented in 2023). With the spirit of making our processes open, we have also documented our processes on a [Grant Support Squad’s manual of operations](https://dcl-dao.notion.site/Grant-Support-Squad-Documentation-bc14cb2ffc0c4df18302bcffc6b60b2f) in a public Notion Page. We are proud of having built a grants program with community input, with 16 step-by-step guides on each of these activities to provide transparency about our work. **For taking care of DAO Treasury**, and since the **creation of the Revocations Committee** on May 2023, 25 cases have been generated, 8 were elevated to the Revocations Committee, contributing to the recovery of $355699 DAI, added to $39750 that our team has recovered from uncomplete grants that voluntarily refunded money to the DAO following our advise, without passing through the Revocations Committee. This sums up a total of $395449 that we helped recover over our last grant and **a total of $448.949 DAI since this squad was created**. On October 2023, we have also made public the concerns from grantees that arrive from [Formal Requests Public](https://www.notion.so/dcl-dao/Grants-Revocations-Pause-Status-668833766cd74c67b0ce05ccdeeac6b2), to provide transparency on the concerns raised, make the status of the process clear, and arguments on both sides. And to make overall **updates and changes to the grants program**, we have published **11 governance proposals**, and have done **9 pull requests made into doc.decentraland.org to update the Grants Program documentation**. We have written [security recommendations](https://docs.decentraland.org/player/general/dao/overview/security-recommendations/), and a sensitive data handling policy. Even though it's been very challenging, we have enjoyed this adventure so far, and we’d love to continue improving our grants program not only with the grantees, but with the broader Decentraland systems, listening to the grantees and applying ongoing changes to better serve Decentraland’s sustainable growth. Proposal on next steps are listed in the Roadmap and Milestones section below. I was expressing my opinion on a grant proposal and responding to what another user replied to me. I stopped after it became non sense. No spam here but thank you for letting me know it was you.
I deleted it, this is a forum, not the #random channel of an instant messaging platform. Stop your spam.
I agree on this even if its coming from you.
95K to delete Naruto gifs/pics and gym/pill comments. Wonderful!
As I said can't properly say anything to beef, because its censored >.> [quote="InJesterr, post:67, topic:21143"] I prefer no censorship [/quote]
That was considered beef? LOL Please make DCL great again!!!! Go back to early 2020 idk, devs do something!!!
These ppl wont let us beef which is why i said lets slide to dms, its uncensored and we can say what we want
LOL, why were the rest of the messages deleted? NVM, no one here ever has the balls to admit anything.
Lmao……………………………………………………… “Community decided” just like they did when your grant passed right? and no thank you I don’t like dms and much less from cyber goons.
I said from the start if the proposal passes they could become canditates of the official committee. my complaint under their grant was after the decision of my case was already decided. maybe get your facts straight, and don’t act up like you are in my butt all the times with your delusional behaviour. If you dont like just dm me I prefer no censorship when I reply to your dumb reactions again.
When your grant is about to get revoked so you post a complaint but then they don’t so you feel bad and try to secure their jobs. LOL
Its sad, right? Looks like the community made a decision, now its time for GSS to question themselves - "why the heck we failed?"
Hey esteban I tried passing a proposal to make GSS DAO officials this way the money we pay them always stay the same and fair. and this way they dont have to resubmit each 6 months this gives the GSS a secured guaranteed job, I hoped the community would have passed that but due to so much 500k delegates its merely impossible I want to let you. Maybe reconsider some delegates.
I believe in the necessity of checks and balances, yet it seems they're more interested in earning money as lawyers and accountants, I know if they cared about DCL they could work for a more reasonable salary.
Really? It’s that hard to believe? 95K to delegate responsibilities to other “squads and committees”? Sad.
Wow; I can't believe this didn't get approved.
Wow! It's astonishing to see how much @decentraland has adopted censorship and become sensitive in the past year, now mirroring the level of censorship on Facebook. Such a disaster. It's clear the founders have profited enough to fund their new lifestyles. They say a captain should sink with the ship, not disappear, and return only when it benefits them. In the community's view, you are not leaders, just a group of inept individuals struggling to make effective decisions in life.
@yararasita Reduce funds by half! We are all monitoring.
Hi everyone, Thank you so much for your inputs during this votation period. Your comments are really valuable for us, and helps us shape our work to serve the community based on its needs and concerns. Our team has thoroughly read your comments, and we are working on a new version of the proposal that takes into account your inputs. The proposal will be published before the end of the week. Thank you so much,
Hi all! I want to clarify the grant revocations process and the role played by the Revocations Committee. Before establishing the Revocations Committee, the Grant Support Squad -[according to the goal when the task force was created](https://governance.decentraland.org/proposal/?id=7a236540-d305-11ec-b521-2f98ffa6ccb0), one of our goals was to signal to the DAO when a vesting contract needs to be revoked, based on our concerns. Our process involved gathering information, engaging with the grantee, and seeking inputs from advisors who could confirm or refute our findings. This approach served as a double-check on the information available. [ In that stage, funds related to 13 projects were revoked or recovered, totaling $165,119.](https://www.notion.so/dcl-dao/edfd964a496942d4befa74d22f4ae26d?v=177d8ed6010f4efd9e96f8f14e7cf5a3&pvs=4) After nearly a year of following this procedure, our team and the community began to recognize that it concentrated a significant amount of power within a single entity. As a response to this concern, the Revocations Committee was established trhough a governance proposal. Its purpose was to review our recommendations and allow grantees to engage with an impartial third party, thus ensuring a more fair and transparent process. [In this stage, funds related to 8 projects were revoked or recovered, totaling $303,450 (all made possible thanks to investigations or interventions by the GSS).](https://www.notion.so/dcl-dao/edfd964a496942d4befa74d22f4ae26d?v=177d8ed6010f4efd9e96f8f14e7cf5a3&pvs=4) Under this new procedure, our responsibilities expanded. We continue to gather evidence from the community through the formal request form, but we conduct our investigations to compare the new evidence with our findings. This comparison is crucial as it determines whether the case is legitimate or not. If the outcome confirms the need for revocation, we send the case to the Revocations Committee for an impartial assessment and to execute a decision. During this phase, grantees can present new evidence or explore alternative arrangements and conditions to fulfill their projects. It's worth noting that four cases have been sent to the Revocations Committee, and in each instance, their decisions confirmed our recommendations. Vesting contracts were revoked, and in some cases, new commitments were established to continue. However, none of these cases led to the resumption of the original vesting contracts of the grants. [Here you can check all the information about the cases that had been analyzed.](https://www.notion.so/dcl-dao/edfd964a496942d4befa74d22f4ae26d?v=177d8ed6010f4efd9e96f8f14e7cf5a3&pvs=4). Thank you @DedHeadJ for mentioned that case. here you can find all the cases. In response to @dogman Under the new framework of the grants program, the community members can raise concerns and provide evidence. Our role goes beyond investigation; it also involves validating the credibility of these concerns and, when necessary, dismissing subjective comments. Also, I agree with you that there is room for improvement in how the DAO funds projects, especially when assessing the value of the project presented in terms of technology and community gathering. During this last grant, we have implemented the field of impact metrics in the grants request form, as a strategy to be able to measure the value of the program and be able to make better investments as a DAO in the future. We are always gathering input and making adjustments with the objective of making a better grants program. Best regards,
Renewal Grant Support Squad H1 2024 This proposal is now in status: REJECTED. Voting Results: * Yes 23% 3,376,810 VP (56 votes) * No 73% 10,482,253 VP (77 votes) * Abstain 4% 581,856 VP (15 votes)
I am writing the review based on the experience of Soul Magic as a grantee. The overall experience communicating with GSS has been smooth, and the GSS has shown the commitment to support us on our needs. From the beginning of our grant, GSS was prompt to be in touch with us, set up milestones and proactive to help us solve the blockers along our project development. The team has been responsive to queries and follow ups. In my opinion, GSS is doing a great job in fostering a positive and supportive grantee experience, that deserves to be recognized.
if The GSS could commit to adjusting their scope of work to actively monitoring and seeking out failing grants they would have a stronger case and would earn my support. I would love to hear thoughts from members of the GSS on this issue
i am asking if the GSS has independently decided to revoke any grant and gathered evidence themselves. If the main job of the GSS is to act as a filter for the revocation committee surely there is a better option that a self appointed squad that costs half a million dollars over 2 years. I would suggest a system that if a grant receives X number of complaints from active accounts then it is a passed to the revocation committee. At the very least the members of the GSS should be voted on by the community afaik this is not the case
@DedHeadJ Thank you A.I. Jenn.😄
