An Education Platform to Link Real-life Value to Metaverse Experiences

Description
The belief that positive development and evolution of the metaverse can only be achieved through educating the users, has been at the core of our value proposition from the very beginning. In preparation for development of this education platform, MetaTrekkers has already begun securing collaborations with various keynote speakers and personalities who are considered leading professionals in their fields. Our aim is to onboard their massive follower audience and those interested in the topics promoted by these guests, and introduce them to the perks of education through the metaverse: Global accessibility First-hand, personal experiences Unlimited networking opportunities Like-minded community As part of this platform, MetaTrekkers will develop a dedicated center in Decentraland, with a total surface of 9 parcels, which will provide multiple settings and environments designed to cater to the specific educational requirements of any topic presented by our guest speakers. We strongly believe that the long-term success of the metaverse depends on proving it’s a stable environment that provides its users with valuable tools and means to expand their knowledge, and a long list of opportunities for self and professional development. What makes our proposal unique in the web3 educational space is an innovative concept which we like to call the Institute for Decentralized Education Opportunities (IDEO) – a fully decentralized organization where the users can take on an active role in the educational process by voting on topics, speakers and activities, and engaging in interactive learning experiences. Being a long-term project, the education platform will also include a program that rewards attendance, activity and involvement with education-related NFT giveaways, job opportunities and exclusive experiences. This rewards program will employ the support and collaboration of many other venues, projects and organizations, from both Decentraland and outside the metaverse. In addition, MetaTrekkers is currently in the process of securing partnerships with organizations like the Texas Blockchain Council, which would translate into access to real-world summits, seminars and sessions where platform users would benefit from exclusive networking opportunities and access. Establishing Decentraland as an environment that not only supports its community’s development but provides the actual educational resources to achieve such growth, is a technique that can reach a large audience and help onboard and transform them into highly active Decentraland users. Given the nature of this initiative, MetaTrekkers is currently seeking to obtain TEDx certification as an official partner for the metaverse, thus adding considerable value and credibility to this space, and paving the road for the launch of the educational platform. With the funds from the grant, MetaTrekkers will develop and market the platform, and will compensate the speakers.

Voting Rationale
As a true supporter of the METATREKKERS project I am very excited to see the next level of development Bringing value to dcl. YES!
An Education Platform to Link Real-life Value to Metaverse Experiences This proposal is now in status: REJECTED. Voting Results: * Yes 36% 6,362,674 VP (130 votes) * No 64% 11,153,278 VP (63 votes)
Voted yes in the previous MetaTrekkers proposal, but I suggest should probably wait for grant vesting period to be complete before requesting another grant of this tier. Btw, great list of speakers/lecturers but as the DCL platform being discussed and promoted I believe should include more speakers/Decentraland community members we recognize. There are many talented and dedicated community members who could help lead educational seminars and represent builders, represent content creators, represent artists, represent DJs, etc. I would be glad to support a grant like that.
Thank you so much Frisky Bumble Bee for always sharing Beattrekkers to your channels (Youtube and Tiktok)
Hi Janice,Dragon City welcomed Metatrekkers with open arms and we are very much grateful for that! Thank you Dragon City for being part of the Beattrekkers
Thank you DigiFun for going beyond! Thank you for being part of Beattrekkers as one of our partner venues.
Any other promotions you would like to share? If the community of Decentraland votes to pass this and we denied the 240k grant for VR... We have our priorities messed up... i am not even surprised by the results anymore :clinking_glasses:
A big shoutout to the two DJs @Acutek and @Billy Tea Coin that took part in Beattrekkers. Thank you so much for sharing your one of kind music with the community of Metatrekkers and for being part of the Beattrekkers. Thank you for voicing your opinion and being here along side for journey. Thank you for any decision or direction you guys recommend. Here are some pics and videos from our past collaborations
While I personally have seen the value of the team as someone who has contributed to a few MetaTrekkers projects in the past, I also agree with @maryana and @Eibriel that this should be done with a smaller grant, and maybe in more of a test case. And I def do not agree with having multiple proposals (grants) at the same time neither. Teams or individuals should be focused on the piece of work they are contributing to before asking for more funds(esp if larger grants). I've seen current groups with multiple proposals unable to complete certain updates and goals, so I will caution to not take on more work until projects are complete.
Hey builders! Anyone wants to add his quote to the article? PM me if so https://twitter.com/dao_times/status/1600849663636144128

Hah no worries at all! I did create a couple of these including that robe but they weren't submitted by me.
My apologies, I swore I remembered having one of yours. I will correct that.
I agree with @maryana , in the past making an event with personalities/celebrities with a big community may bring people to Decentraland, but is not the case anymore. We need to test new ways to onboard people to DCL, and for testing would be better to start small. Decentraland is now the "cash grabbing virtual world with 38 users", and people that before may checked it out is now completely unwilling to try it. Your proposal is good, but the external environment factors are not.
Wizard gear is from Wilderness. I havent participated in any of these events. @Existential14
I see @VjDeliria is the 2nd one. There are @AwedJob Specs. @friskybumblebee cyber ninja mask. The metafoxcrew Fox head. steve sai headphones. The wings are @SynthiaNominae. Not sure if that is Sirdropbeartv or @mattimus psyriiis shirt. Of course there is yappingchen DigiFun @mashayong element dress.
Thank you @BioMETA for the supportive remarks! I Love our events in DCL which are Wearable Wednesday/ Fan art Friday!](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TLue88CeNi_Ix7m-88yksKcFfpSObHyk/view?usp=sharing) I attached our collaborative event in which Alan (@Existential14 ), you and Metatrekkers partnered together to support Wearables creators and NFT artists for nearly a year now. A lot of creators would of course first publish their wearables in DCL, then come to display it in the Metatrekkers ClubHouse to the DCL community .These type of events are which we still host till this day, it helps DCL bring in revenue for the Dao. We also never charged for these events!❤️ Thanks again guys for seeing the vision and supporting the community! @BioMETA @Existential14 https://twitter.com/metatrekkers/status/1557392438230020097?s=46&t=m1AJqw7cFccio2XmsdZdTA
MetaTrekkers have done amazing job bringing in new users in DCL. We are working together with MetaViu and his location always get good amount of traffic weekly. He has done many amazing events so far. I also agree that speaker fees are a bit too much and can be lower than that. Voting yes
**OFFTOPIC** Can I use this image for my meme collection?
 Quid pro quo?
MetaTrekkers are clearly one of the hardest working teams within Decentraland and have already delivered on some huge milestones. I believe this grant will massively benefit Decentraland by onboarding professionals into the space, not only will this proposal onboard new players but it will educate the current community on very important topics (Blockchain, Crypto & MetaVerse). Its a clear yes from myself and the MetaParty team!
I vote yes for the Metatrekkers!!!
Metatrekkers are very active and i believe they are working for the community.
As I was in this event because of DJ Vilaria, I would have never volunteered if I knew it was at the Metatrekkers venue. Once again, more free entertainment for the community through your project. Unfortunately, I will have to warn every female I know in the music industry or anyone in this industry to stay away from projects like this because they will take advantage.
Thank you DJ VJ Deliria, Metatrekkers was so happy to collaborate with you on “Dia de los Muertos” Day of the Dead. Was an amazing event where you onboarded your community from spatial and around the world, especially the Mexican community. The event, led by none other than VJ Deliria, is set to educate guests through NFT art, music and direct engagement, about the rich culture surrounding this day of celebration. Even Thalia retweeted our collaborative event on twitter , who has 9.7 million followers and said she will be attending.
