Description

I propose reducing the VP requirement for all POI proposals from 2M VP back to 500K VP Despite the newly formed council claim that low DAO participation is due to users having less VP, evidence shows the higher threshold is the true barrier. Address two issues with one effort.

Voting Rationale

0x521B…8692No 711,711

There is enough VP, it's just that people don't want to vote.

0xBC02…Dc7dYes275,704

Imagine if we had to wait for the council to fix this small issue, which only required a simple proposal. Just saying.

0x9DAb…b6c1Yes197,504

Passing a POI is very hard these days. lots of large vp holder don't vote on POIs. I would be open to making the process easier

0x5985…05bdYes101,809

There is enough VP from people that don't vote to get a majority NO on POIs if they don't want said POI implemented

0x1B35…C600Yes84,169

500K for current DAO participation is right, requiring a higher threshold is currently pointless.

6 x L1 wearable collections already have VP. The current VP mechanism in place is good IMHO. We just need to encourage more participation. I am curious to understand why our users and council members are struggling to comprehend this simple logic. What's the point of creating more VP out of thin air when we already have ~1.6B VP in circulation? Better option would be to autonomously gamify this by hats similar to harry potter's sorting hats in hogwarts castle. refer to my upcoming poll proposal coming today

Percentage based VP.. Is a solution to this.. https://forum.decentraland.org/t/dao-qmvdipm-percentage-based-vp/3336

When the community voted on MerySharks POI, we saw that even if most of the daily active users voted yes, we didn’t even come close to having enough VP to pass it the first time. It only went through on the second try when users with more VP, who aren’t online in DCL every day, voted. I’m not sure if 500K VP might be too low - I think 1M VP would make more sense - but since I agree with the direction of this proposal, I’m voting yes. It would be nice if the users who are online in DCL daily could define the POI independently.

Makes sense..... I've been saying for a while that we should introduce +25/100k VP for people that own POIs.. It's not an easy status to earn..

I feel that the others share the same view as you, since they haven't responded or shared their own perspective hence referring to all five. And yes, I can read just fine. :sunglasses:
Because the 5 seat council seems clueless around this topic.

Despite the newly formed council claim that low DAO participation is due to users having less VP
Not sure if you know how to read. The forum post I authored clearly states that it was from a personal perspective and not a representative from or a collective representation of the DAO Council. ![image|690x115](upload://6ODGHMIsdEPQnRjgB4j2lH6S9hS.png)

There is enough VP, it's just that people don't want to vote. Suppose you fix this by rewarding more VP. Either way, I'm confused about which side of the fence you're on.

Do you still believe rewarding users with unlimited VP is the best solution or lowering VP threshold is? Because the 5 seat council seems clueless around this topic.
