LoL I love when Jarod has some crazy polarizing fight with someone, Atleast he puts DCL on the map with his craazy attitude sometimes. I even beefed with him for houuuurs and found nothing more amusing then that xD I am 100% certain that i have more dialogue with jarod then anyone else. whether this is good or not his content is definetely very intruiging!

If not Jar0d then who? Jar0d is consistant, absorbs the data, and one of the most active players in DCL. Yes he has no filter and not everyone a fan but the saying goes when you cater to everyone you cater to no one. Even he has publicly said some negative things about Waifumon and I in the past however I take all feedback by everyone and use it or not and move on. Yes we can go on about his history but I am tired of people digging up irrelevant stuff when these fourms are suppose to be about the proposals themselves. It's simple. If we want tightly only positively written Propaganda no one will read but good for SEO purposes. Then Chat GPT and an SEO expert the one for the job. People tend to dislike Jar0d because he's the vocal minority that calls out BS wherever he sees it. Jar0d has always been more than nice to me and has encouraged myself and numerous others to experience other DCL based games and activities. Like him or not, Jar0d is and has always been one of DCLs biggest supporters and wants nothing more than this platform to succeed. The articles he has already written prove that he is able to make easy to read content whilst pushing for an increased dau and signal boosting DCL projects. Jar0d, unlike most people, actually LOGIN to Decentraland and are actually active within the platform, whether it be at events, parties, ice poker, koa, or simply hanging out in Wonderzone chatting with other citizens. Jar0d has literally entrenched himself within the metaverse and like it or not, is a valuable citizen that should be thanked for his hard work. I'm aware of the controversies that Jar0d has been in, but he continues to grow as a person using forgiveness and empathy to squash the beefs that he has had. 99% of the time Jar0d is right in his assumptions, the 1% that he is wrong he will make up for it using his diligence to make sure the other party knows he messed up. Its been a pleasure chatting and hanging out with Jar0d and I'm glad to be able to call him a friend. The amount of assumptions I see of people judging Jar0d in a negative light without them ever interacting with him is staggering and disheartening.

Jar0d may be polarizing, and you may not agree with him on everything, but he is very active and will make sure that anything he supports or proposes will succeed. If not, he will throw himself on the front line to do everything he can to make it succeed. That passion and commitment are hard to find these days, so before you vote NO, make sure it's for the right reasons and not just because he insulted you etc...Don't spite vote, vote for the betterment of DCL, this is the beginning of something new and great, don't let pettiness and emotion take over.

I don't think there is any reason to believe the 3-6 No voters deciding the outcome are going to change there mind over a shorter window of time. Not one of these no votes, besides yourself, would change to a yes.  

i think that's fair - i googled this just cause i have no idea about going rates for such a thing and 15k for 3 months sounds really high compared to other grants. Okay first off, I'm a lil surprised ppl are doing google searches for copy rates, I will note that most of those articles will not be correct. It varies state to state, country to country, and industry to industry. I know this as I hire copy writers in my industry all the time, and I've worked closely w Media and Advertising and Marketing Agencies. And let me tell you, Media and Journalism ppl deserve more pay, it's gross how underpaid some are for what they do. They are constantly taken advantage of, esp young or up and coming creators/writers. IDK how so many ppl in NYC who write for outlets even have an apt out here, its so grossly underpaid. I also think to debate someones potential pay with such scrutiny while also saying that the content brings value, is in conflict with each other. Only the creator knows the TRUE value of the work. This kind of dialogue and scrutiny actually hurts creators in getting fair pay. And IMO a lot of ppl in DCL should be charging more for their services. But i do know this is a grant and not a salaried job, so there are other perspectives to be had. If people are so concerned with paying so much for the timeline, but also acknowledge he's been making content and can produce quality, then why not just find the middle ground? Do a 5k grant for 1 month and prove it. If it goes well, then do a 3 months one, with a more longterm plan for advertisers, sponsors, donations etc so you can make it sustainable on its own after the 3 months. Isn't this what grants are for? To support creators who are actively participating in world, creating content, and promoting the platform? If money is the only issue we get hung up on, then we might have the wrong priorities.

Thanks! Your vote brings me to a pretty commanding lead in all relevant metrics once you remove RobL's vote.  Without RobL's vote I would be leading by 573,063 VP with 2x as many yes votes as no votes. Those totals are only accounting for Voters with 100vp or more, since I am aware that bot voting is a concern. However, I am also leading by a reasonable margin among sub 100vp voters in both metrics as well. At this point, it is reasonable to say that this vote is being decided by RobL. Hopefully, others will come to see that and remember that if you don't care about the abuse of the system when it is doing what you want, you don't actually care about people abusing the system.

I am voting YES on this proposal. OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING, Jarod is one of Decentraland's best writers. His articles prove it. I am a huge fan of his articles that are strictly related to DCL/DG. Based on the current state of the results, I'd encourage Jarod to either try to submit a smaller grant to prove himself wrong. Jarod & BVERSE (Goldguy, Alpha & I) had its history in the past, however, we were able to become civil and don't attack each other anymore. Best of luck Jarod & hope to see more of your posts.

It would be nice to hear from @RobL and why he would like to, once again, vote against the majority of the community. It is a shame that the DAO is seemingly controlled by someone with no interest in acting in the best interest of anyone but themselves. While you can argue that others can, and have, come and outvote Rob's malicious votes, that is not a strong defense to the accusation that one person is dictating the DAO process.      

I mean, I personally don't agree with retroactive funding really but I was just pointing out that it is something that has been approved in the past so maybe people would feel more comfortable with the amount if it were presented that way.

from what I know is that the things you do for free, before your grant will only show your capability, so its a good thing he did it but it wont necessary mean that he is getting it for work that is already done. Which is why I think he should write much more then he promised for such a price. example: @Tobik has 105k views on 1 video, which doesn't mean he should now be paid for that. but if Tobik asks a grant it atleast shows he is capable if he asks a grant.

Regarding concerns about the amount being asked, I think it's important to note that jar0d has been writing and producing content for free for one year, and several other grants were approved as retroactive payments. Would $15k be more acceptable if it were broken down and presented as payment for articles and promotions he's already written + a portion for articles to come? If so, maybe @jar0d can math out a price per article and restate the budget as partially retroactive payments in addition to future articles you intend to deliver and remove the twitter aspect as that seems to be the most controversial element. Do I personally think this is necessary? No, but I also don't think the amount being asked for is unreasonable when considering the work already done for free so maybe others need to be able to see it that way as well.

I don't think you read the grant request very well if you are under the impression the majority of the work being done is going to be the tweeting. I wish you would stop repeating yourself. Everyone has heard you, it appears they don't agree. You have said what you have to say about how toxic you think I am almost a dozen times with very little change in your approach. At this point to continue doing so would make you the toxic part of this discussion.

The fact is you have a pattern of toxic behavior on your twitter. You are asking for a grant for the content on your twitter. I do not think that type of content is worth investing in. Just because you are positive sometimes or write decent content does not dismiss that fact.

The money you ask is a bit too high for writing 3 months of articles. @jar0d s posts wheter you like it, its hateful or not, it gets viewed by alot of people. I think this parrot character he is showing us is a bad man trying to do good things. I have been in many discussions with jarod that I even started to like him a little bit. He can be very protective over his friends which sometimes drive him into these situation which is not a bad thing perse. imo these are Jarods pros: He is very active. He is a good writer. He is a good promoter. He has good connections. He has solid knowledge. He is entertaining. He is willing to communicate. Jarods cons: He is hateful. He is very emotional. He has a low temper. Let's avoid hyperbole and try to stick to facts. You have presented some tweets, most of which are replies in ongoing conversations. To suggest that is the majority of the content I produce is dishonest.

On a note completely unrelated to this proposal, I just want to brag that I made more money in one day selling a DCL emote than the journalist who wrote the coindesk 38 users article LOL!

So I think the amount being asked for is quite a large amount if it's just for 3 months but knowing Jarod, he'll continue to write for even more months to come. I've actually read a few of his blog posts and I do enjoy them. Maybe I'm biased because Jarod has been nothing but lovely and supportive to me but I think a lot of people only see the negative stuff he says and completely missed the positive stuff he does for the community (blog posts, onboarding, promoting people's NFT projects, promoting games, promoting wearables). I think as long as he's not making hateful content and holds only kind words I don't have an issue with this.
