Description

This proposal aims to add specific requirements to future Decentraland DAO grant agreements, for recipients to acknowledge the support of the Decentraland DAO. This would help raise awareness of Decentraland's support for innovation and community initiatives, and enhance the platform's reputation. Since there is a separation of Decentraland Foundation and Decentraland DAO, all mention of Decentraland is in regards to the DAO.

We want to assure that we are fully committed to ensuring compliance with the recommendation for grantees to recognize the DAO. If anyone fails to fulfill this proposal without sufficient justification, we will report it accordingly. You can see here that the documentation is already updated. [https://docs.decentraland.org/player/general/dao/overview/grants-program/#grant-categories-and-requirements] If you have any further suggestions or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your engagement and support. Thank you once again!

Thank you. What more can I do to assist with this? It sounds to me as though we are giving the grantee the option to recognize the DAO? Correct me if I am wrong. It will be visible as to whether the grantee has decided to recognize the DAO or not and how? While I don't think it is grounds to pause a grant in the beginning, if it does become an issue and other DAO members raise other concerns as well then I believe it should be taken seriously. It was, after all, overwhelmingly agreed on by the community that grantees recognize the DAO in some small way and are given many options to choose from to do so.

Hi @Existential14 ! Moving forward, as this proposal has passed, we have outlined the following steps to implement from our squad to comply to it: 1. Communicate the grantees during the onboarding process that granting recongition to the DAO is a good practice for their grant. 2. Regularly check the compliance of this proposal in monthly updates. 3. Include the compliance of this proposal as a card in the grant's public roadmaps for community visibility. 4. Add a new item to the grant's end report to measure if they granted recognition of DAO support or not during their grant. 5. Update the official program documentation adding that the community values the recognition of the DAO support on their project excution. Please be in touch so that we can work together to embed these changes into the DAO's culture. Thank you for your valuable contribution to raise awareness of the Decentraland DAO. Best regards, Grant Support Squad

Have you seen the proposal in the ApeCoin DAO? Might be interesting to read the comments: https://forum.apecoin.com/t/aip-274-apecoin-powered-powered-by-apecoin-logo-implementation/13720

Thank you. I would hope that the grantees would do this as it should not be anything to difficult. They have many choices in which to provide recognition. I guess I would certainly not want it to be a cause for revocation but again it is something simple that should be done. I gave the GSS the ability to make any decisions they desire in good faith for the community so that will be up to however they decide should it be an issue, I suppose.

Hi! We wanted to express our support for the proposal and our gratitude for considering our comments. Our team has been actively working on it (you can see some examples https://2dcl.org/, https://theinstaverse.com/ , https://dclbuilderai.com/ ), which have shown positive results. I believe we can achieve even better outcomes by formalizing these efforts as a formal recommendation. Just an important note to clarify: grantees do not report to the GSS; they report to the community using the official update feature in the governance app. The GSS is the squad that supports and verifies whether everything is on track or not, so the GSS will continue to encourage grantees to do what this proposal says, as a point during onboarding and during follow-ups, but will not be a reason for recommending a revocation (except the category that has it as a requirement). Thank you and we look forward to collaborating!
