Create an RFI Process to Obtain Information from DAO Officials
Proposal Details
Description
**SUMMARY** A proposal to establish a formal Request for Information (RFI) Process for community members to submit questions to DAO officials and obtain relevant information from them about DAO-related matters, offering an opportunity to seek clarification, gain insights, and address specific concerns or topics related to DAO operations and governance. Creation of such a process will ensure that community questions to DAO officials are publicly logged, prioritized by interest, and answered within a defined time frame. **MOTIVATION** 1. No single, trackable channel for community questions to DAO officials Community questions to DAO officials are scattered across the Forum, Discord, and other channels, making it hard to track or locate past answers. 2. Unknown or unavailable information prevents informed participation Key details about DAO operations can be unclear or unpublished, making it difficult for community members to make informed decisions. 3. No response or unknown response time DAO officials have no obligation to answer community members’ questions about specific DAO-related information within a defined period of time, which reduces transparency. 4. Proven precedent: DAO - Foundation RFI DAO has already leveraged a dedicated RFI procedure to question the Decentraland Foundation. Many inquiries have been logged and answered. Mirroring the same process for internal DAO bodies extends a successful, community-trusted process. **POSSIBLE SPECIFICATION** **Support Desk** Entries & Support Desk process for all DAO RFIs. Responsibilities: organize and refine submissions, prioritize by community vote, forward top questions, and verify feasibility of responses. **Channel & Workflow** Forum Category: Create “Request for Information – DAO” category on the Decentraland Forum. Submission Window: Forum Threads stay open for 30 days using the predefined template. Ranking: A 14-day community voting period after submissions close; highest-liked questions are prioritized and forwarded to DAO officials (bodies). Response Deadline: Targeted DAO body/official has 30 days to publish a public answer on the Forum(Governance dApp). Follow-Ups: 3-day window post-response for clarifications; further questions require a new RFI. **RFI Submission Template** - Title - Requester (Your DCL username, ENS, or wallet address — optional) - DAO Target Body (DAO Council | Executive Arm | DAO Committee | SAB) - Request Purpose Why do you need this information. - Questions General or specific DAO-related questions. - References Links, images, or documents that support your questions/request. **CONCLUSION** Implementing the DAO RFI process will increase transparency, reduce information gaps, and ensure timely, trackable responses from the DAO’s governing bodies to community members. **VOTING OPTIONS** YES: Create the DAO RFI process. NO: Leave as it is. This is a non-binding pre-proposal poll to assess community sentiment. If approved, feedback and insights will be solicited to refine and finalize the points.
